China Explores Ancient Sailors’ Legacy (CCTV)
China and Kenya are joining forces to conduct an archaeological survey of Kenya’s Lamu Islands. Archaeologists believe that the islands are home to a number of archaeological sites dating from Admiral Zheng He’s (郑和) voyage to the African continent some 600 years ago and that the research conducted at these sites will shed new light on China’s trading history.

South Korea is to step up its efforts to retrieve its looted treasures from abroad. Korea’s Cultural Heritage Administration estimates that over 107,000 cultural artifacts are in the hands of foreign governments and collectors, with over 61,000 in Japan alone.
